Created in 1984 by social workers inspired by Emmaüs, Envie’s mission is to provide the opportunity of a job for the people who have not have not had access to working life. They do so through professional training to renovate electrical and electronic equipment waste (WEEE). Every year, Envie collects a third of WEEE produced in France (100 000 tons) in one of their 35 collection centres. Once electrical and electronic equipment is repaired or rebuilt, it is put on the market and resold with low prices and under warranty in one of the 50 Envies stores. Look Sharp has organised Envie’s 30 years anniversary event, positioning Envie as a pioneer in recycling, circular and social economy, and aims at making the network known through its innovative initiatives and it’s new President’s ambitions.
